Who we are

Who we are

We are Kees and Monique. More than ten years ago, we decided to move to Norway and after a temporary stay of about two years, we settled in Breim.

We bought a house there, with a small garden. A place where we already had many plans. It was divided into three parts in the first few years. A workspace, a living space, and a bed and breakfast.

Kees' workspace, with his handyman business, is located on the ground floor, the B&B takes up the top floor and part of the floor below, while our private quarters are behind another door. We all enter through the same front door and share the staircase, after which each area is separate. It's no surprise that there have been some renovations done inside. Once the layout was finalized, we moved on to the interior design. We approached this with a lot of love and enjoyment, and we're very happy with the results.

A lot of work has also been done on the outside. The front view and both sides are done, and we are very happy with that as well.

Around the house is the garden where we, but especially Monique, are very busy - and are getting greener fingers all the time -. We started with a plan for a small vegetable garden, but over time it has grown into an increasingly edible garden. Tasty green and organic.

Besides all this, we also like to get out; sailing and fishing, walking and mushroom picking, taking a few tours and seeing new things.

Our B&B is located in the Breim valley, in the municipality of Gloppen, in Vestland. The valley is elongated and is surrounded by Nordfjord, Jostedal and Breimsvatnet. The Storelva river and the E39 run almost side by side through it. In summer, there is a lively atmosphere; the water in the river flows, sometimes roaring, the birds are clearly busy and tourists fill the main road. All of this is in stark contrast to winter.

We are still enjoying ourselves to the full here. Whether we are working or doing absolutely nothing, in the hustle and bustle of summer and in the silence of winter.
